Mario Bottero brings extensive experience in business leadership, real estate development, property management, and energy innovation to his role as Co-Founder of Calisan Venture Capital. His career has been defined by identifying opportunities, building strong partnerships, and guiding projects from early concept through execution.
Before co-founding RoseWater Energy in 2010, Mario was one of the founding principals of RoseWater Management Group alongside Marco Lorenti. In this role, he was involved in several stages of the development process, including site selection, rezoning, marketing, and construction. Together, they grew RoseWater Management Group from a startup into a successful real estate development company involved in more than 2.4 million square feet of commercial and residential property.
Mario also founded Russell Hill Homes, where he oversaw the acquisition, rezoning, and development of an exclusive luxury home community in Mississauga, Ontario. Throughout his career, he has worked with organizations including Canadian Tire, Mercedes-Benz Canada, Home Depot, Leon’s Furniture, Future Shop, and others.
At Calisan Venture Capital, Mario applies his experience in development, operations, and partnership-building to support early-stage companies with practical guidance and long-term perspective. His current investment focus includes applied ventures in energy, resource recovery, critical materials, health, wellness, and longevity, with an emphasis on companies that can create lasting value in practical markets.
Marco Lorenti brings extensive experience in business development, real estate, property management, and commercial growth to his role as Co-Founder of Calisan Venture Capital. Over the course of his career, he has helped build and lead companies across the residential, commercial, industrial, and automotive sectors.
In 1997, Marco co-founded RoseWater Management Group alongside Mario Bottero. What began as a small startup grew into a successful real estate management and development company involved in more than 2.4 million square feet of commercial, residential, and industrial space across Ontario.
Before entering real estate development, Marco managed multiple automotive dealerships and was selected by Toyota Canada to serve on the marketing committee for the Canadian launch of Lexus. At the time, he became the youngest member appointed to the Lexus marketing committee.
Throughout his career, Marco has worked with leading organizations including McDonald’s Canada, Burger King, Toyota/Lexus, Magna Automotive, Blackwood Partners, Morguard Investments, CIBC Investment and Development, and others.
At Calisan Venture Capital, Marco brings a commercially focused perspective shaped by decades of business development, client relationships, and company-building experience. He works with early-stage ventures across energy, resource recovery, critical materials, health, wellness, and longevity, helping them think through market positioning, strategic partnerships, and practical paths to growth.
